I stayed here for business and chose it because of price and location. I'm always disappointed with the hotels I choose in London as they always look much better online than they really are. In the Astors hotel this is not the case. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and the staff is helpful. Yes, the rooms are small, but for the purpose of my trip it was just fine. Bathroom was ok as well and breakfast is a nice extra thing you get with the room rate. If prices remain attractive, I would certainly stay there again for business. And, an important detail, I asked for a quiet room at time of booking, and that's exactly what they have given me.

We booked a last minute 3 night break in London for a honeymoon, but wanted to keep costs down due to the obvious explosive costs of the wedding!
Let me start with the travel. We were quoted over £200 for the two of us by train and National Express from Cornwall to London. When I inquired about MegaBus we found it was less than £20 per person return to London Victoria Coach Station. And this is where this hotel first caught my attention.

It is only about 2 minutes walk from the coach station door. Having paid when booking for a double room, I was aware and a little concerned the rooms were small, however we intended to either be out and about or in bed, so we did not see this as too much of an issue.
We were first showed to Room 206 - which unfortunately was a twin room! When I mentioned this to the receptionist and in fact we were on honeymoon she told us she would get another couple moved from their room and we were to sit tight for ten minutes.

As it turned out, we were then allocated Room 208 on the top floor, a perfect double room. Yes the room was small but it had air conditioning and an en-suite. The en-suite has a small square shower, barely big enough for a man like me to turn round in, but it served a purpose. If they utilised the room properly they could install a much bigger shower cubilcle which would have been far more comfortable.
But anyway, it did not spoil our visit. The bed was soft, but exceptionally clean and quite sturdy! Not much of a view but we did not expect one.

We never tried the breakfast room - there are plenty of places to get breakfast close by. We did make plenty of cups of tea though, and had no issues whatsoever obtaining more tea bags or milk.
The staff were lovely - friendly and willing to help, and certainly did their part to make our little honeymoon memorable.

If you do stay here I suggest you definitely try the Peggy Porschen Cup Cake Cafe opposite - expensive (£12 for two cup cakes and two lattes) but they were the best cup cakes - apart form those made by my wife! Well worth it to try them and sit outside watching the world go by for half an hour.
Top hotel, great value and thoroughly recommended. And only ten minutes stroll from Victoria Tube Station, and five minutes from a pick up for the standard open top London tour bus.

Very clean, good sized and comfortable room on first floor with helpful, pleasant staff. Such good value for an extremely central location. Breakfast good, but room rather small and generally full of other guests.

We stayed with our baby daughter for a night. This was by far the cheapest hotel we could find in Central London (easy walk from Victoria Station), and for the price it delivered. Our room was quite small, though not unexpectedly so, but accommodated all of us well enough, and the ensuite facilities, although so bijoux that the shower door wouldn't open if the bathroom door was closed, were running well with a very decent and surprisingly large shower in particular. All was clean, staff were friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast kept us going for ages.

Very comfortable beds. Very quiet for London. Had a large suite. Clean well equipped shower room. Found the stairs and door down to my room a little awkward especially carrying a suitcase. Apart from this no problems at all.

The Hotel was quite nearby Victoria Station from where easy access to Heathrow is possible. Best for people who are in a Holiday visit in London. London bus ticket vouchers are also available with the reception of the hotel. Hotel authorities are very helpful for people visiting London for the first time. For Indians, Indian restaurant is about 5-7 min. walking distance from the hotel. All in all Best hotel to stay if you are there for 10-15 days.
